Ivan Daniel
Creator and Editor of Business Math Lab
Who I am
I'm Ivan Daniel, the creator and editor of Business Math Lab, an independent collection of transparent business calculators and formula guides. I'm based in Romania and build the site as an independent publisher and web product builder.
What I build and maintain
I design, build, and maintain every calculator and guide on this site: the formulas, the input forms, the worked examples, the FAQ content, and the underlying JavaScript that runs each calculation in your browser. My focus is on practical web tools that make formulas, assumptions, edge cases, and calculation limits visible instead of hidden behind a single number.
Editorial responsibilities
I'm responsible for selecting which formulas are used, documenting their assumptions and units, checking worked examples by hand, testing calculator behavior across empty, zero, negative, and extreme inputs, and correcting any error that's reported. The full process is described on the Methodology page, and the publishing rules that govern it are on the Editorial Standards page.
Approach to transparent calculators
Every calculator documents its formula, its assumptions, and a worked example on the same page as the tool, rather than presenting a result with no visible method behind it. Where a business metric doesn't have one universal definition, the calculator states which definition and inputs it uses.
Professional limitations
I'm not a certified public accountant, accountant, tax adviser, investment adviser, lawyer, economist, or credentialed academic, and no content on this site has been independently reviewed by another expert. Business Math Lab provides educational calculations and planning estimates, not professional accounting, tax, legal, financial, or investment advice. Confirm any figures used for financial reporting, tax filing, or legal decisions with a qualified professional.
